Sunset photos on Buffalo Pound Lake
Day by Day, Photos May 1st, 2007Despite the fact Bandit the Wonder Dog and I acted as tick bait (I mentioned yesterday I hated wood ticks) I did manage to get some good photos of the sunset setting over Buffalo Pound Lake.
The pictures were taken at the old causeway on #2 Highway. You can click on the pictures to get a larger picture.

I find it truely amazing that such an ugly lake in July(cause you can almost walk across it the algea is so thick, and the weeds even worse)is just a beautiful sight at sundown. These are the kind of photos that they put in the brochures to suck people into coming here. And then…..well as I said,July is not good. But they don’t know that do they.Good job Lee.

These photos are so absolutely amazing, Lee, and remind me of just how much I hated to move away from Moose Jaw because I’d be missing the most beautiful sunsets in the world . . . they just aren’t the same here in Alberta, and I haven’t seen a more beautiful sunset than these photos you captured, even in Mexico or Cuba!! You truly have great talent and should see if you can make some money off these photos through Saskatchewan Tourism or something!!!
PS – The wedding photos of Stacey – is she Marlene’s daughter (we never met her, but I think I remember you and Marlene talking about her “daughter” Stacey!
PS #2 – Is there any way you could send the photos of the sunset at Buffalo Pound to me and Audie so we can print them out? If so, much appreciated!!

Hi Lois
Thanks for the compliment. It took me three trips to the lake, because I wanted lots of reds in the sunset. I think you have to get the right amount of wind and dust to reflect (or maybe its refract)
(re: PS #1)Yes, Stacey is Marlene’s daughter.
(re: PS #2) I’ll resize the photos and send you an email with a link to the location on the web site. The original photos are huge (about 8mb each) so they would take forever to download. The ones here are not suitable for printing, unless you want photos that are about an inch by an inch. There are about 50 photos, and I couldn’t really decide which ones to post here, so it was kinda eenie meenie minee moe. Looking later, I think there are some others that I prefer.
I’ll try to do that this weekend sometime
