Name that tune
Day by Day September 13th, 2007Well, I’ve been recording some old records over the last couple of days.
I thought I’d post a short clip and make it a contest. The first to “Name That Tune” correctly gets to buy me a beer. All other contestants get to buy two beers.

Need hints?
It’s an old song – came out in 1975. It probably puts some people at a disadvantage because it’s older than they are.
It never made the top twenty.
No one remembers it
Good luck

Well I DO remember it,but not sure exactly if I have the right title for the song…Is it “Her fool”? Or maybe “I’m Her Fool”

Damn you Sherry – I didn’t think it would be that easy.
Now for 50 bonus points – who sang it?

Billy Swan – I’m Her Fool. I think it was the 3rd track on the album “I Can Help” which by the way was recorded in two takes using an organ Kris Kristofferson gave him as a wedding present. Here’s another couple of useless facts for you – Billy Swan wrote songs for Elvis, Conway Twitty, Waylon Jennings and Mel Tillis, he played bass for Kristofferson and he produced Tony Joe White’s “Polk Salad Annie”
So does anybody owe me beer?

Isn’t there a break in the song that goes “I’m her, I’m her, I’m her fooool…I’m her, I’m her, I’m her fooool”
There may be a key change after…or maybe I just imagined the whole thing.

Chances are that only my family had any idea.
You’re right… there was an “I’m her foool” break. That’s the reason I liked the song. He just sounded so, uh, -
bad

I think you are probablly right Lee.Nobody else in the world would be crazy enough to actually go to the store and buy that record.Personlly…I like the song. And the I’m her fool break is how I remembered the name, had to sing it to myself and get to that part to remember the title.Forgot who sang it tho
