I finally drummed up the courage to remove all of the 2X4 studs and make a real opening between the living room and dining room yesterday.

I had Aaron Ireland help me – someone needed to know what they were doing. We built the temporary walls on each side, and went at it. The openingTo my surprise, it only took about an hour and a half to do.

I saved the temporary walls (they are leaned up against the living room window for the time being) because my “to-do” list has at least one more wall that has to come down. That’s the wall beside the stairs. A different view

Progress is slow and sporadic, I know that. But, me and the dog are the only ones who have to live in the mess. It would be nice to get it cleaned up just for a while though.
