There’s good things and bad things about being obsessive-compulsive. As I admitted in the previous post, I can slip into that state occasionally. I’ve always wanted to learn how to draw using the anime or manga technique. I was fascinated with the style long before it became as popular as it is in North America now. No one ever says life is fair.
Now, I find out that I’m not old enough. Yes, it is hard to believe. I’m at the age where the Safeway people ask if I want help getting my groceries out to the car. I’ve had people tell me I could get my kids to help fill out an online registration form if I don’t have a computer or have difficulty. The MacDonald’s restaurant gives me coffee at the seniors rate. I’ve never been to the mountains in the winter time, so while I was in Calgary, a trip to Banff was nothing less than a necessity. It was a great day – the temperature was around 14°, hardly a cloud in the sky, and a slight breeze to remind you that it was winter in the mountains.
It goes without saying, that skiing was not on the agenda. Photography (or something like it) was the focus. Maybe there would even be a bear or two this time around. Read the rest of this entry »
It’s one o’clock a.m. and I should be sleeping since I want an early start for my trip to Alberta tomorrow morning – later this morning, actually.
According to the weather report, there is a chance of snow flurries here in Saskatchewan. There’s supposed to be mild temperatures with a mix of sun and rain and in Alberta.
I hate driving in a snowstorm, so if it’s ugly here in the morning, I’ll postpone the trip for a day or two. Look for me tomorrow afternoon sometime. I’ll be the one calling from my cell for directions…
It happens every year in late February or early March.
