Thinking Out Loud

The title says it all…

I haven’t been able to update the blog for quite awhile.  So. I’ll start here, and backdate a few posts (quite a few actually) to catch up.  It will take a few days, and most of it is news about the house renovations happening at my little house.

So, be patient, and check back a couple of times over the next day or two for updated  (or outdated) news.

The main floor is going to be an open space, which is perfect for a smaller house.

Eventually, there will be an island in the “kitchen” area.  The plumbing and wiring will all be hidden with a dropped ceiling.  The pot lights are installed in the living room area,  The biggest problem is a small “dip” in the kitchen floor where the cabinets go.  It will require a few choice words to get that fixed, but I’m sure it will be repaired. It took Bert three days, but the 2nd story floor is looking good.  It was a little more work than expected, because of the layers of wax that gummed up the sandpaper instantly.  We eventually had to use a belt sander over the entire floor, to get rid of the wax, and then use the fancy floor sander after that.  Read the rest of this entry »
