Creepy crawlers in a tree
Day by Day, Photos June 17th, 2009There’s a very low hanging branch in my front yard, that only annoys me when I mow the lawn. I have to sort of duck and twist to get around it. As I was mowing the lawn yesterday, I caught some sort of motion out of the corner of my eye, and thought it must have been a bird in the tree. On the next pass, I realized it was a herd of tent caterpillars hanging out in the tree branch.
With nothing better to do (or more presisely, nothing that I wanted to do), I decided to monitor the little pests to see how long it would take them to eat the leaf they were attacking.

Hungry little buggars. Took them about a half hour to devour the three leaves, and actually form a parade to march up to the next set.
