Thinking Out Loud

A long time ago, I posted a photo of Audie and Tash. I re-discovered it, and decided to try and paint it. The original photo is here and this is my version of it below…

A couple of weeks ago I was in Calgary. It was a sunny, warm day, and even though there was lots of snow still on the ground, Natasha and one of her friends were outside, doing typical kids in the summertime stuff.

I wanted to re-do an old picture I did years ago of Gollum (from Lord of the Rings) on a skateboard.  I think it was painted on an scrap piece of drywall, and I think I gave it to Graham, and I’m actually not sure if it was ever really finished.  This is more demon-ish than gollum-ish, but I had fun anyway.

Hell on Wheels

Almost everyone knows the big reason I watch NCIS is because I’m infatuated with Abby.  Just for fun, I tried to come up with a picture of her and her farting hippo.  What can I say?

So I’m stuck inside having fun doing some digital artwork.  So what do I draw?

Something warm and tropical one would think, but I decided on snow.  Here’s the WonderDog goofing around.

Snow Bandit

I’ve had the urge to start doing some of that artsy-fartsy stuff over the last few months.  So when the kids asked what I wanted for Christmas, I said a couple of tubes of paint, or paint brushes, or something like that.  I  just have to buy a few more colours now, and I’m  gonna start some practice stuff soon.

In the meantime, while waiting for Christmas (always a kid) I bought a new drawing tablet for my computer, because my old one was starting to skip.  Then I found a cool painting program called ArtRage that simulates real paint (well as close as you can get, with a computer anyway)
