Alberta for a week

Day by Day No Comments »

It’s one o’clock a.m. and I should be sleeping since I want an early start for my trip to Alberta tomorrow morning – later this morning, actually.

According to the weather report, there is a chance of snow flurries here in Saskatchewan.  There’s supposed to be mild temperatures with a mix of sun and rain and in Alberta.

I hate driving in a snowstorm, so if it’s ugly here in the morning, I’ll postpone the trip for a day or two. Look for me tomorrow afternoon sometime. I’ll be the one calling from my cell for directions…

I’ve added another web page to the “About Me” section.

The section for Jack (that’s my new grandson) is finally online, though it’s a bit bare at the moment. Read the rest of this entry »

Is your Facebook cluttered?

I’m not sure I get Facebook.

That’s not exactly true. I do understand what it is, and how it works.

The thing is, I don’t see how anyone can possibly visit all of their friends pages, and browse all of the stuff that’s there. Most pages go on and on and on forever. Read the rest of this entry »

The fishing trip

Day by Day 3 Comments »

The one that didn’t get away Saturday morning I went fishing with Sherry and Herb at the Craik Regional Park. I bought a fishing rod and reel, the angler’s license, and left home with a positive attitude.

I had been promised that there would be good fishing because my guides knew all of the good spots. As it turns out, there was only three or fish in the whole lake, and Sherry caught them all. Two of them were worth keeping, one of them was a little iffy, and the one to the left was nothing more than a large guppy. Read the rest of this entry »

The family photo

Day by Day 1 Comment »

When I bought my camera, I managed to convince the salesman to throw in a remote control. I didn’t know why I wanted it, I just wanted it because I wanted it.

I had never used it, but it was supposed to let me take a photo from as far as 25 feet away. So, when someone said they wanted a family photo while we were in Edmonton, I thought it was the chance to try it out. Read the rest of this entry »

(not so) Great Uncle Audie

Day by Day 2 Comments »

Uncle Audie and Natasha Maybe it’s because I’m a little jealous, ’cause Tasha hasn’t sat with me long enough for a photo, but I don’t see why anyone would consider him anymore than just your average uncle. Read the rest of this entry »

Amy and Bert on Trampoline Everyone likes a trampoline.

There was some sort of a game going on here. Being old, with brittle and weak bones, I wasn’t going to get involved. I think it was called “bum fights” or something like that. I believe the idea was to try to make the other person fall off the trampoline, or at least lose their balance. Read the rest of this entry »
