Santa left some snow sliding saucers for Tasha and Ben for Christmas.  And of course they needed to be tested as soon as possible.  Fortunately, there’s a hill close by to Graham and Ivy’s house that was built especially for that purpose.  Unfortunately, they don’t tell you that one part of the hill is almost suicidal.

That’s the hill I wanted.  Read the rest of this entry »

Great Uncle – part 2

Artwork, Day by Day No Comments »

A long time ago, I posted a photo of Audie and Tash. I re-discovered it, and decided to try and paint it. The original photo is here and this is my version of it below…

Blowin’ Bubbles

Artwork, Day by Day No Comments »

A couple of weeks ago I was in Calgary. It was a sunny, warm day, and even though there was lots of snow still on the ground, Natasha and one of her friends were outside, doing typical kids in the summertime stuff.

A digital painting of the activities…Blowin' Bubbles

There’s good things and bad things about being obsessive-compulsive. As I admitted in the previous post, I can slip into that state occasionally. More often than not, it happens when I decide that something has to be done, that is probably non-essential, time consuming and serves no real purpose. Read the rest of this entry »

The family photo

Day by Day 1 Comment »

When I bought my camera, I managed to convince the salesman to throw in a remote control. I didn’t know why I wanted it, I just wanted it because I wanted it.

I had never used it, but it was supposed to let me take a photo from as far as 25 feet away. So, when someone said they wanted a family photo while we were in Edmonton, I thought it was the chance to try it out. Read the rest of this entry »

(not so) Great Uncle Audie

Day by Day 2 Comments »

Uncle Audie and Natasha Maybe it’s because I’m a little jealous, ’cause Tasha hasn’t sat with me long enough for a photo, but I don’t see why anyone would consider him anymore than just your average uncle. Read the rest of this entry »

Day Trip to Banff

Day by Day, Photos 1 Comment »

I started writing this post when I got back to Calgary, but never had time to finish it until now…

Ivy, Natasha, Bandit and I decided that a day trip to Banff was in order and set out at about 10:00 towards the mountains.

I had originally planned on doing the “tourist” thing in the town of Banff for a while (mostly for Ivy’s sake, because I thought she would like to look at some of the little shops there) but the Town of Banff decided that this was the week to literally rip up the main street from one end to the other to replace the storm sewer. It certainly didn’t resemble the scenic little village you see on the post cards and TV shows. After traveling through about six blocks of major construction, I was fed up, and just wanted to move on. Read the rest of this entry »

Sunday afternoon B-B-Q

Day by Day, Photos 1 Comment »

On Sunday afternoon, Graham, Ivy and Natasha came over for a while. It was a sunny afternoon (which turned sort of drab and cold later on) but we bar-b-qued some burgers and had a couple of beers.

Natasha, as usual, didn’t want too much to do with me. I’ve decided that’s okay. It’s one less Christmas gift to buy  Read the rest of this entry »

Natasha page added to the blog site

I’ve added another web page to the “About Me” section.

The section for Natasha is up, and since she’s my first grandchild, she might get special treatment and get two or three pages. Read the rest of this entry »
